Composed for RPI's Contemporary Improvisation Ensemble, Radix employs a custom generative algorithm to create an evolving visual score in real time.  The work explores the relationship between musical identity, improvisation, and systems-based composition by cross-mapping the musical circle of fifths with each performer's astrological birth chart. Pre-composed musical fragments derived from significant astrological aspects are combined with a dynamic algorithmic system, creating a unique performance that is never exactly the same twice.
